MOVEABLE MAJOR 9TH CHORDS

Another useful chord substitution is that you can substitute a minor 7th chord built on the 3rd of the Major 9th chord Tonic. Using the minor 7th substitution usually means that the Major 9th Tonic is left out as it makes the chord either unplayable or difficult to finger. The Tonics are indicated but are marked with an X at the bottom of the string.
